Crown Center’s Ice Terrace is in its 53rd season and has become a must-visit winter spot for friends, couples, and families. After you’ve wrapped up on the ice, Crown Center is the perfect spot to warm up with some coffee or a bite to eat.
2. Sledding
Kansas City may sit right on the edge of the Great Plains, but there is no shortage of fantastic sledding hills to hit up after a fresh snowfall. Bundle up, grab your sled, and head to one of KC’s best sledding spots:

3. Snow Creek Mountain Resort
For those looking for more thrill than sledding, take the short drive north to Snow Creek Mountain Resort in picturesque Weston, MO. Make it a day trip and enjoy skiing, snowboarding, and even tubing in the famous Tornado Alley Tubing Park – all without the trek out to the mountains! After you’ve had your fun in the snow, enjoy lunch, dinner, or après on-site at Snow Creek.
4. Union Station
Want to escape winter’s chill for a little while? No problem! Kansas City has plenty of indoor adventures, especially at Union Station. Take the kids to explore Science City with over 300 interactive exhibits! Or, step into history this winter with tickets to Titanic: An Immersive Voyage, where you can experience the iconic story of the ship through artifacts, recreations, and immersive displays.
5. Kansas City Mavericks
While other sports are winding down during the colder months, you can always catch an exciting Kansas City Mavericks game on the ice at Cable Dahmer Arena! With several home games scheduled throughout the winter, there are plenty of opportunities to cheer on the team and enjoy some fast-paced hockey action.
