Ellen featured in Centennial Health magazine

Recently Ellen shared a social media post about awareness of diabetes symptoms; while it differs from her usual real estate and local Kansas City focused content, she finds it important – even urgent – to talk about diabetes and to spread awareness about its symptoms.

As someone who genetically struggles with diabetes, Ellen is passionate about the importance of being mindful of diabetic symptoms, consulting with your doctor, and following the right protocol for treatment. While Ellen is now off insulin today thanks to extreme weight loss, she still takes medication and exercises regularly. Diabetes doesn’t just go away, and it can be very dangerous.

On March 22nd the American Diabetes Association annually recognizes Diabetes Alert Day to spread awareness about diabetes and its symptoms. This year Ellen was contacted by a writer from the national publication, Centennial Health magazine, to discuss her personal journey with diabetes, her weight loss, and how to manage the symptoms of this illness. The article can be found in Centennial Health: The Complete Guide to Reverse Diabetes.

Ellen On Fighting Diabetes

Ellen’s tips for managing diabetes include exercise, hydration, and portion control, but more importantly, Ellen focuses on nurturing a strong and healthy mindset.

“I think women can be our own worst enemies – we give other people the power,” she states in the article. “We have to grab hold of small victories to empower ourselves.”
